OSTEOPATHY

WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?

Osteopathy is a gentle yet effective method of alternative healthcare, which is based on

diagnosing and treating the musculoskeletal system.

Osteopaths not only treat pain, but also diagnose why the cause of the pain and helps to stop it happening again.

Similar to Physiotherapists, Osteopaths treat the whole body. Mainly focussed on treating the soft tissue, including muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints.

Osteopaths treat through manual (hands-on) therapy. Using techniques, such as;
  • soft tissue, similar to massage
  • articulation of joints
  • stretches and manipulation of joints (where a click may be heard)
Your Osteopath will also provide information about your diagnosis and give advice about exercises to prevent the injury occurring again. This advice can include postural guidance, strengthening exercises and work-related tips.
